Before you come for me about the sugar in the banana, yes it does produce sugar. The darker the banana is, the more sugar it has. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t provide any guidance when it comes to sugar intake. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends no more than 25 grams (6 teaspoons) per person per day. The American Heart Association recommends 36 grams (9 teaspoons) per day for men. People assigned male at birth (AMAB) should also consume 36 grams per day. That being said, the protein in the eggs and nuts does help to balance out the sugar intake. At the end of the day, if you know your sugars spike with banana bread, don’t eat it.

Now, let’s get into it.
